Collective Worship

An Act of Collective Worship is held each day. It provides an opportunity for communal celebration, a time for reflection and prayer, and forms a foundation for spiritual and moral growth.

The Headteacher is responsible for planning assemblies which are based on the school's Christian vision and values, and which mark the key events in the Christian calendar.  Opportunities to positively represent and celebrate the richness of cultures and faiths within and outside the school community are also promoted at this time. 

The school has close links with the local parish church – St.Edmund’s, and regular services are held at the church at key points in the year, providing opportunities for parents and friends to join the staff and children for Worship.  The Rector's team lead Collective Worship each Wednesday.  Individual classes also organise their own assemblies to which parents are invited.  

At Maids Moreton it is hoped that all members of the school community will share and join in Religious Education and Collective Worship. If parents wish to have their children withdrawn from daily worship and Religious Education lessons, they should contact the Headteacher to ensure that alternative arrangements can be made.

The weekly programme of Worship is as follows: 

Monday-Whole school singing assembly.

Tuesday-KS1 themed assembly and KS2 interest assembly.

Wednesday-Whole school church assembly led by the Rector's team from St Edmund's.

Thursday-KS1 interest assembly and KS2 themed assembly.

Friday-Whole school celebration assembly.
